Why I Love Clinicals

So I started clinical at Portland Providence Medical center about 4 weeks ago and everything was going fantastic. I learned a few things the first week like: no matter how much you prepare yourself, the client will do or say something that will through you off; no matter how nervous or unprepared you are, the clinical instructor will still through you in; And most important of all, the hospital is not full of gorgeous ER actors! I had come to except this when the latter turned out not to be true this week...sort of. On Tuesday I was waiting to get report from the nightshift nurse, minding me own business, when WHOOSH! a dreamy Gerard Butler lookalike walks out of a clients room.
OK, so he doesn't look exactly like Gerard Butler, but it's a close call. Too make things even better, he's a DOCTOR! Be still me heart. I'm girl enough to admit it...I was fascinated with him...and I still am. I thought that last Tuesday would be the only time I would see him, but guess who came to get a chart from the nursing station I was charting at? Yeah I think my heart went into cardiac arrest for a millisecond.
The only problem is that I used my damned waitress skills and found a ring on his left hand. Yeah...what a bummer. Now when I go to clinical I sin (coveting a neighbors spouse). I mean I try not to, but the guys so freaking handsome. There was a lot of rationalizations going on in my head, but in the end I figured he could just be eye candy.
