So, I was at work the Saturday before Valentines Day, watching all the cute husband/wives grab their last minute gifts for their valentines. Needless to say that I was a little green eyed. I was thinking about how every year I tell myself that maybe next year I will receive a valentines gift from someone other than my father (don't get me wrong...I love my dad's valentines gifts). However, the thought was washed away as a needy valentines customer grabbed my attention. As I drove home I tiredly tried to push my mind alway from needy customers, KOP goals and recovery of store standards back to my own self, my life and my own needs. It is another world you step into when you go to work. Anyway, I got home and saw a box on the chair by the table. It said flowers on the side and had my mispelled name on it. I looked at it, thinking to myself "I didn't order flowers, what kind of scam is this?" Then...I opened it. It was a box of roses. Then I thought, " Oh, dad must have sent them to me." I quickly realized that there were two problems with my rational, 1: my dad would written Kenzie on the box and 2: he hadn't sent Cheryl flowers.
So, as it turns out my dad hadn't sent the flowers to me. They were from Doug, a soldier I had been writing to in Irag, who I hadn't heard from since November of last year. So, there you have it... 2010 the first year I got a flowers from some not in my family!
